The practice of exfoliation is credited to the ancient Egyptians. Exfoliation is a skin care treatment of removing dead cells from the skin. Our skin encounters millions of germs and dust particles every moment. Our immune system renders them harmless but they get deposited on the skin. Here, exfoliation comes useful in cleaning the skin.
Exfoliation helps regain the charm and beauty of the skin as the layer of dead skin cells masks the originality of the skin and the skin appears to be dry and rough. It also becomes a breeding place for acnes and pimples, if not exfoliated regularly.
The removal of epidermis through exfoliation gives vent to the growth of new inner dermis layer which is tender and fresh. Not only this, exfoliation also removes tanning and unwanted hair on special skin areas like face and hands.
Exfoliation is done through fruits and natural scrubs as well as some chemical compounds like crystals and pumice stone.
